So, lately, I’ve been dealing with a lot, and I mean, A LOT of limiting beliefs. You know, those sneaky thoughts that often whisper, “I’m not good enough” or “Change is too hard for me.” Well, I’ve been trying to cohabitate with these beliefs and inner shadows for a long time, but honestly, it often seems that the effort I put in is being ignored by my inner self. But what if instead of navigating by myself journeys like shadow work, I used tools that could help me challenge and reframe them?
In a previous post, I talked about how AI can help you unleash your future self. One of the key points was AI journaling for overcoming limiting beliefs. I want to elaborate more on this since I’ve been researching more about shadow work and limiting beliefs. Let me tell you that there is so much information that it can be overwhelming if you take on the journey by yourself. Luckily, I’ve discovered that AI can be an incredible tool to help guide you through this process. Of course, it’s not a replacement for an actual therapist, but it can offer structured exercises that make self-reflection and personal growth feel more approachable.
Perhaps AI can act as a personal journaling companion, guiding you through the process of identifying, understanding, and transforming these self-imposed limitations into actionable insights. Here are some of the prompts and exercises suggested by Chat GPT that resulted from my experimentation with Chat GPT through different prompts.
How to Use AI for Journaling and Reframing Your Beliefs

- Shadow work helps uncover hidden fears and insecurities that influence your decisions. The dialogue technique allows you to have a conversation with your shadow—the part of you that holds limiting beliefs—so you can better understand and integrate it.
- With AI (Voice or Text): Use AI’s mic feature to actually speak to your shadow self as if it were another person. AI can respond as the voice of your limiting belief, allowing you to challenge and reframe it in real time.
